Yesterday during my 4 hr break in btwn lessons, i was slacking away. sitting on the benches with friends, somehow we started talking about the future. well, 2 of them started it, and i realise sth similar about them.

They are so family... in the way they plan and think about their future.

we started talking about career first. like how many yrs to stay in audit, then moving on... to maybe CAD.

but then they started discussing at which age they wish to get married (ard 26) and at which age to have kids(28 to 29), how many kids...

i'm like "..........."

then they went on about what they want their kids to learn (music, etc), how to educate their kids, what kind of games to play with them...

i wanted to faint.
are they mad or what?

they think really far and practical.
and so i told them i've never thought of it that way. marriage? i've tot of dream ceremony (cos i witness one in the evening at sentosa beach), dream hse (cos my "elder sis" is an interior designer and i've seen those designs she had drawn), etc, but never at what age. and i've never really thought of kids. sure, kids are nice, but hard to teach and support.

so I said "I don't believe in marriage so early (at least right now), neither do i believe in forever. perhaps the earlier u get married, the earlier you get sian... and kids are nice to see but can but can be really irritating too. actually, i don't like kids."
and 1 of them seem quite shock.

then 1 said that she thinks i can be a good career woman. but i seriously doubt that too. unless i get a job i like. which i don't think it'll be audit. *shrugs*

they are seriously so family la! are you ladies reading this like that too?
cos i was thinking i really wish to travel around the world if i hv the ability to do so next time. of course it'll be great to have a travelling partner la...

then to the Mr. Right topic.
they eliminate by occupation. No lawyers, no salesman/sales mngr, no artsy fartsy kind, no policeman, no... i can't rem.
really practical. i've never thought of using jobs as major criteria, just tt he needs to be established in his career and stable.
i forgot to ask though, would you consider someone who earns less than u? whose career is not as established as u? whose job is on a lower level? cos i can never figure this question out.

then on what classes they want to pick up next time.
taekwando - because being an auditor is dangerous too, esp if u are auditing fraud cases. the company will want to silence you. i don't think i'll do this. at most take some self-defence lessons bah...
yoga - i'll take up this too!! for health, exercise without sun and running...
cooking - learn from your mum.

for me, i wish to take up:
languages - somehow it's been a dream for me to know many languages. but languages are hard to pick up. esp when u don't use them often or are not in contact with them often.
ballroom dancing - i dunno. some basic ones. it'll come in handy when u meet mr. right

ok. tt's it. i can't rem what else we said.
