Ahhhh~ I'm tired... but I'll be going to sleep soon. Soon. Once... has... if not tmr won't be able to stay up late. *haha* no la, I'll always be able to stay up late no matter how tired I am. Gyaa! If tmr we were to slp really late, I'll look like a panda for presentation on Fri. Lol~ xD

Yeah, but still wanna slp late. u up for it, laysh? Feels weird to have slpover on a weekday.

Anyway, time for some updates.
Some stuff to make u laugh. (Yes, u guys are forever so mean, laughing at me)

Biz comm tut last fri.

In-class debate.

Sidenote: We were nominating speakers for our grp and my friend wanted to nominate these 2 guys. So she said "Nike" (which was one of the guys' name) and she wanted to point out the guy beside Nike too. Too bad she didn't know his name. So happened tt he was wearing an Adidas jacket. Now, u can guess what she did/said right? "Nike and Adidas!"

Ok, back to the point.. which is me!

I was picked to be one of the 4 judges. *Inner voice: Yay! So fun! Just sit and listen and can decide who win and who's best speaker*

I happened to have watched a few debates on CNA, the Sentosa Intervarsity Debate, so I know what a judge is supposed to do. And my dear fellow judges (one of them is my fren), throughout the whole debate, they were just sitting and listening. I was the only one taking down notes (what each speaker said, theire verbal and non-verbal stuff, etc) My fren saw me and starting writing some stuff too. But then, eventually Iwas still the one with most notes blah blah.

So you know what? After the whole thing ended and we've agreed on winning team and best speaker, one of the judges must go up and give summary of whole debate. Yes, u got it right. I was asked to do it since I was the one with notes. I wanted to pass my paper to one of the guys to do it, but the tutor was: "Madam, I don't think it's any use to pass your notes to someone else. He'll just be reading out your points without knowing what they mean. Etc etc etc." So eventually, I had to do individual presentation AGAIN. I'm always being forced to do this kinda stuff for biz comm. Bloody hell~ AND, when I went up, the facilitator (my groupmate) and timekeeper (my fren) actually ran off back to their seats, leaving me REALLY ALL ALONE FACING THE WHOLE CLASS.

Fortunately, there was a table and chair there, so at least I can sit down and talk. My nervousness not so obvious.

But wad the heck!? It's still so embarassing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! >_<

Ok, got lit essay to do, fanfic to write, and translations to do, etc etc etc.
Btw, u don't see me online so often now, not because I'm dead. I'm still using my laptop, but I'm jus too lazy to go online. And too SCARED! Cos I don't want ppl to start msging me about projects and stuff. As if I don't have enough of that while in sch. I HATE HATE HATE projects! Especially those where grouping is not with friends. And I mean must be ALL friends only better. Sux sux sux. Projects can go burn in hell!!!! Oh wait, they're not living things in the first place... hmph.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!! F***!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hate tragic love stories! I hate them, I hate them!!!!!!!!!

I hate the feeling of regret that is overflowing in tragic love stories!

Why? Why? Why?

Why didn't you just admit that you loved him? Why didn't you realized that you loved him so? Why must everything only be revealed so clearly when it's already too late? When you can never see him again?

Why weren't you brave enough?
Why didn't you tell him you love him?

God. It's the feeling of helplessness that drives me crazy.

"The greatest love stories end in death."

That was what my Lit lecturer said during the first lect of this sem.

"Just think of Romeo and Juliet. A classic example."

I agree. And when he said that, I immediately thought of Mirage of Blaze. (^^;) 400 yrs of love and hate and it eventually ended in death. A final closure of everything that has happened. Nothing more, nothing less. Siigh~

(It's so damn depressing that every subsequent line of the novel I read, I feel so sad. I cry everytime I read that part. Anyway, I shall not dwell on it here.)

It's because of the sadness and regret that lingers, right? These feelings lingers on much much much longer than happiness. Is the phrase "happiness doesn't last" more common than "sadness doesn't last"? I think so. And besides, if regret isn't lasting, it won't be known as "regret".

On another note, it's said that originally, there wasn't a word like "hate". "Hate" was only invented much later. There was already the existence og English language, but there wasn't "hate". Who came up with it? What feelings are associated with "hate"? Why are those feelings recognized as "hate"? I guess that "hate" exist only because there's "love".

The more complex our language, the wider range of emotions we feel. Who knows there might be a new word describing a new feeling in the future.

And then, there's this point on...

Does language command love?
Or does love command language?

How do you express your love with words? Can you even do that? Does language restrict love? Or does it express love? Besides, emotions are so imprecise that it's difficult to describe them.

On an ending note, remember the quote from Written on the Body - Jeanette Winterson: "I love you is always a quotation".

(More on self and identity stuff later on... some of which I've been wondering about even before it was mentioned in lectures ^^)
