today's biz law lect talked bt partnership, so ended up toking to laysh bt the flower biz we did. so huai nian! reali love the experience. too bad there's not much proof that we did such a thing. how stupid of all of us to not take photos of the process starting from day 1. and laysh's faulty camera always screws up at impt times... all those photos she took on the last day were ruined... just like the first cosplay event we went to. grr...
anyway... am currently surfing net for info on norse mythology... the norns. then i tot of Shakespeare's Macbeth... the 3 witches? they sorta rep the norns. hee... cos the word/name "wyrd", when translated in norse myth, it's urd. very interesting! Urd(past), verdandi(present), skuld(future) = 'fate', 'necessity', and 'shall be' respectively.
after watching MLR, it's kinda surprising to read that thou urd is the leader, skuld is actually the most powerful, as she can choose when to end a man's life. One spun out the thread of each life, another measured its length, and the third decided when the thread should be snapped.
And how they actually look like:
Urd is depicted as a crone(hag), looking backward into the past. Verdandi looks straightforward. She is matronly and confident. Skuld, the youngest, continually looks ahead into the future.(opp direction of urd) She is usually veiled and holds an unopened book or scroll, showing her reluctance to reveal the future.
However, thou they are the 3 main norns, it is believed that everyone is born with a norn next to them. this norn, some good some evil, shape that person's life and determine his or her fate. So there may be a norn with you at this very instant! Hahaha~
